The Smitty Shield is a new approach to the ALARA concept. It allows users an alternative lightweight and inexpensive way to shield workers from a source of ionizing radiation. Whether put to use around a worker, or in shielding a source from the worker, it allows the user to readily construct and deconstruct the shield in just minutes with minimal resources.

The Smitty Shield therefore allows the user to save time and dosage - cutting labor costs. The versatility of the Smitty Shield gives the user more options to protect workers from ionizing radiation. Available in heights of 4, 5, and 6 feet, our Smitty Shield weighs less than 50 lbs and is comprised of 2 pieces, allowing for easy access into rooms with narrow doorways.
